John Carpenter’s 1973 film, “Halloween”, is the first installment in what has become the Halloween Franchise. The iconic slasher film stared Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance, and was directed and scored by the world-renowned John Carpenter.

“Halloween” was produced on a budget of $300,000 and grossed $47 million at the box office in the United States and $70 million worldwide, launching what is now the 4th highest grossing horror franchise of all time
