CLC

About Us

"We function exactly like the movie studios, such as Fox or Disney, however we work directly for our clients, the people we represent. We are very experienced and have been successful throughout the world"

Formed in 1982 by Rand Marlis, CLC’s first representation was Orion Pictures.  Early Orion films

represented were DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN (Madonna’s debut film) and THE TERMINATOR.

Other early representations included A CHORUS LINE (the movie), CAGNEY & LACEY and the Republic

Pictures Corporation.

In the mid-1980’s CLC expanded its staff and moved into its own building.  PLATOON and the classic

children’s tale PIPPI LONGSTOCKING were licensing successes for CLC at that time.  The late 1980’s

brought the popular BILL & TED’s movies and the immensely successful ROBOCOP series of films.

EARTH DAY 1990, The British Broadcastings Company and National Lampoon were also major CLC

representations.

In 1991, CLC represented THE ADDAMS FAMILY from Paramount Pictures for which they earned

nomination from the Licensing Industry Manufacturers Association as Best License of the Year.  At the same

time, AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS from ABC and RESCUE 911 from CBS became

representations.

In the mid-1990’s CLC undertook the representation of one of its largest single movies, the record-breaking

box office science fiction film, STARGATE. In the later 1990’s CLC began to represent PRIMAL RAGE

from ATARI Games and developed it into a hugely successful toy line from Playmates. Additional

representations at this time included: PENSACOLA: WINGS OF GOLD, from CBS; WORLD GYM; and

PAINTED LADIES, the beautifully refurbished Victorian homes that are located throughout the United

States.

More recently, CLC has represented the movie WING COMMANDER from 20th Century Fox and the

games GEX and LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER from EIDOS, the comic book series WITCHBLADE from

Top Cow Comics, THE TERMINATOR from StudioCanal and classic Hollywood icons like W.C. Fields.
